In 1989 Harper Corporation developed the 60 degree ECHOCEL(TM) engraving, thereby revolutionizing flexographic print capability. By continuing to strive to make flexo a repeatable science rather than a mystical art form, Harper Corporation has become the world-wide leader in the supply of laser-engraved ceramic anilox rollers.

Introducing Harper Corporation's Breakthrough Platinum TechnologyExclusively from Harper, Platinum is a revolutionary innovation that helps keep ink from plugging the cells in the surface of an anilox roll. It's the result of a new CO2 laser process that reacts with trace elements in our ceramic compounds creating smoother cell walls and cavities in the surface of an anilox roll. Scanning electron microscopes (SEMs) confirm that the new laser process creates a 60 percent increase in ceramic cauterization - resulting in a cell wall that is much smoother, rounder and more level, as shown in the SEM photos below.

Smoother Ink ReleaseThe smooth, uniform cells created by the Platinum process mean that ink releases easily, so your print jobs wash up faster, reducing downtime and increasing your efficiency. In addition, the whole printing process is cleaner, so you'll have fewer interruptions and a cleaner final product. In short, Platinum technology means more hours on press, less ink expense and a better quality product.
Easy Visual InspectionYou'll recognize a Harper Platinum roll immediately because it looks different from any other anilox roll. Smoother cells give anilox rolls higher reflective properties, so Platinum rolls appear lighter in color. Because the Platinum finish is lighter than that of standard anilox rolls, you can tell at a glance whether cells are plugging.
Save Ink and SubstrateAnd Platinum technology will save you more than time. Because Platinum's smooth cell walls and cavities mean that ink releases easily, less ink is plugged in the roll and wasted. Even high-density jobs won't require as much ink as you've needed in the past. Ink costs are a major expense for your operation, and wasted ink is wasted money.
| Platinum technology improves your substrate costs in the same way. When ink releases correctly on press, you'll need to print far fewer test sheets at the beginning of a job, you'll have fewer mistakes that require overruns and reprints. Less printing means you can squeeze more substrate out of your budget. Reduced Doctor Blade Wear Doctor blades suffer a lot of wear and tear on conventional anilox rolls. But because Platinum's smooth rolls cause less damage, doctor blades last longer and need to be replaced less often. | ||

Platinum Technology is from Harper CorporationFor 30 years, Harper Corporation has been manufacturing the highest quality anilox rolls in the industry. Ten years ago Harper Corporation introduced 60¡ hexagonal anilox cells, which launched a new age in flexographic printing. Today we're revolutionizing flexographic printing again with a technological breakthrough called Platinum. Rest assured that when you order our Platinum anilox rolls, you'll get the quality and consistency that are synonymous with the Harper name, as well as the best technical service in the industry. In addition, we are proud to offer our new Platinum technology at the same price as our conventional anilox rolls. Anilox rolls make a difference in your operation. When you print with consistent, quality rolls, changeovers are quicker, ink release is cleaner, and you deliver a better product to your customer. Jobs wash up faster, changeover time shrinks and your press runs more hours. Extended VolumesNote that for the first time, Harper Corporation offers CO2 laser engraved anilox rolls with extended volumes, as shown on the Platinum volume chart. Deeper cells cause conventional anilox rolls to plug more easily and release ink less efficiently. Platinum technology's ink release characteristics allow volumes to be extended by as much as 50 percent without risking ink plugs.
